If there is anyone near Alicante, Spain this September I'd like to suggest
that there be a demo, tutorial or write up of lenya at the European
Conference for Digital Libraries:
http://www.ecdl2006.org/
From reading the project overview (lenya.apache.org), lenya could be very
useful to university and research libraries. Most academic libraries have
been at least talking about electronic publishing, including workflow, and
some even making implementations. Lenya seems to be more of a CMS, but
there is still substantial overlap between CMS and publishing, say of
dissertations and theses.
The relevant dates are:
Call for Papers, deadline March 3:
http://www.ecdl2006.org/papers.jsp
Call for Demos, deadline March 3:
http://www.ecdl2006.org/posters.jsp
Call for Tutorials, deadline March 3:
http://www.ecdl2006.org/tutorials.jsp
I'm making the suggestion because this is the kind of project I like to
hear about at conferences or see demonstrated.
