does this imply moving to flat storage, and having the tree structure
only in the sitetree.xml file? if so, votes++++++++++++

(i think solprovider has been working on this, perhaps this could be the
first thing to reconcile with the current 1.4 trunk?)

Yes, the flat storage structure was the second improvement. The
problem is I bypassed most of Lenya1.2's code, so authoring and
maintaining the site structure need to be reimplemented. The new
versions will be easier and much more flexible, but there is work to
be done. Lenya1.4 could patch the existing code to use the flat
storage, but there would be no functional improvements.

The other question is what to do with plug-ins (Usecases, Modules)?
Adding Modules and fixing the URLs was the first improvement for
Lenya1.3.

Lenya1.2 has drop-and-use Usecases with poor URLs.

Lenya1.3 has drop-and-use Modules, and supports Lenya1.2's Usecases
until they are migrated (which is easy.) URLs are flexible.

Lenya1.4 has things called Usecases and Modules. (Please tell me the
following is wrong. It is my impression from reading the MLs and
Wiki.) Usecases require special configuration, and Modules contain
Java classes; neither is drop-and-use. I expect the URLs are still in
the style of Lenya1.2.
