[1.4] Kerberos/LDAP users implementation

I have successfully gone through and heavily modified the LDAPUser class 
to make things work with how we do it at my shop. Users have iids (mine 
is richard.frovarp) that maps to uids (rfrovarp) that is used to 
authenticate against kerberos. I don't know if there would be interest 
in support for such a user outside of my shop. My question is, what is 
the best way to integrate this into the existing system? I am guessing 
that I would create a module and have those usecases some how override 
the various admin usecases for adding and editing users? Any advice 
would be greatly appreciated.
