Hi Lenya devs,
do we need another testing session?
Hmm, the problem is that we have daily commits even if we have the
freeze. That makes it very hard to test a RC since it is a moving
target.
We need a new RC. The status of those bugs and fixes for them have been
put in place since RC2. We need an RC3 to test those fixes as we know
that RC2 is broken. Kupu doesn't work in a non-root context under RC2.
It should now and that is 43750. You're missing bug 43933 from your list
of bugs. It's been fixed, but that was post RC2. I've been watching the
commits. They have been either bug fixes for issues, or clean up of i18n.
The main point is that the status of the remaining blocker and critical
bugs have to be confirmed:
http://issues.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=43750
Needs to be tested against trunk as it should work. Parts of that bug
that are present RC2 means that the editors can't be used from a
non-root context. Kind of an important thing I would think.
http://issues.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=43429
This one is awaiting final confirmation that it does indeed work.
Someone just needs to test it under Jetty6 or similar. It may be a
couple of days before my calendar permits me to be the one. Looks to be
fixed pre RC2.
http://issues.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=43864
The fix for the bug which is in RC2 made things worse. So this bug is no
longer a proxing issue, it's a oneform doesn't work at all under
standard Jetty issue.
I had a glance over them and as I understand them they are all proxy
related, right?
So no, they aren't all proxy related. One is proxy and non-root context
and probably fixed post RC2, one is probably fixed, one is just plain
broken.
I personally prefer to release with a note stating that the proxy
support is limited and get the release done.
salu2
I vote we need a new RC. From there test 43750 and 43429. From there we
fix 43864 and any new bugs found in RC3. My understanding of a freeze is
that we find bugs and then only make commits to fix those bugs of
sufficient concern. Something I saw earlier said there was a decision to
take care of anything with a target of 2.0 in bugzilla. I have been
working towards that end. Maybe whoever said that on IRC was wrong.
However, we currently have 2 enhancements which can be deferred, one
normal that doesn't look like it's going to happen, 1 critical that
probably can be closed, 1 blocker that probably can be closed, and 1
critical that needs to be fixed.
Thanks for looking at this.
