+1 we really need a speedier procedure for maintenance releases imho. right now, it's not too hairy, but imagine we had a security flaw to address... do our rules allow immediate release if a certain number of active committers have voted for it and there are no explicit vetoes? like, annouce the release, ten out of fifteen committers say yes on the same day, tarball goes out by next sunrise. (generally, i don't want to induce lengthy bylaw discussions - my approach would be "do it in breach of current procedure due to urgency, and get a vote later on to give it solid backing"... all i want to avoid is a project governance discussion when we have a security issue) -- Jörn Nettingsmeier "One of my most productive days was throwing away 1000 lines of code." - Ken Thompson. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
