Yes - I have the feeling that we arrived at a point where we can concentrate on optimization because the overall functionality is quite stable. Correct me if I'm wrong :)

All requirement sheets I recently received contained statements like "The authoring environment must have a response time below 1 second.". Apart from that, I have the chance to work in a productive Lenya (1.2) environment at the moment, and it's remarkable how fast users notice a decline in the responsiveness of the authoring environment.

There are virtually endless places where we can improve the performance, the pipeline architecture seems to offer the most obvious options. The good thing about the optimization work is that it can usually be done incrementally. Any help is of course greatly appreciated!
