I gather that there is no guarantee about uptime or replication
or backup of the zone server. So make sure that your content is
safe and service config etc is in svn.

From our point of view, the ideal setup would be Apache HTTPD as
proxy and Tomcat or Jetty as servlet engine, probably connected via
AJP (mod_proxy_ajp). All connections to the authoring environment
would be done via SSL. We're not yet sure if SSL should be handled by
the proxy or the servlet container.
Would this be a reasonable setup from your point of view? If yes, are
there already certificates which we could use?
