Hi Lenya devs,
it would be very convenient to reference meta data elements using a
"combined" name, including namespace URI and element name. But unlike
the qualified names in XML, it should not be necessary to declare a
prefix. Some purposes would be
- i18n message keys
- search index field names
James Clark introduced the notion of "universal names" [1]:
Another option would be
[EMAIL PROTECTED]://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/
which might be a bit easier to parse.
Does someone know an established convention for combining namespaces
and local names? TIA!
no, but for Yanel we use the notion of James Clark and it works fine so
far.
Thanks for the comment - the "universal name" convention also works fine
with meta data. I'll add this to the documentation as soon as we have
finished the switch to Lenya.
