I'm a friend of "reduce to the essentials" so I like the clear appearance very much! No "unlogic" shades, curves, borders, bells and whistles... it's exactly what I've leard when I studied Graphic-Design: "Form follows function". IMO this "clear look" also reflects the heart of Lenya: a clear and open system.
Thomas' suggestion in regard to the color: sounds very good to me if it is used like a spice - just a bit at the right place.
