the tag doesn't get created until the release has been voted on. I use a "tentative" tag to refer to the commit hash that the build was created from. The original tentative tag was push to the git server along with the original vote thread so that will probably cause more confusion!
The tag will be created as v1.0.0-pre1 once we get the vote.
