environment variables for k8s can be defined in a scope of an env in airflow.cfg https://airflow.apache.org/docs/apache-airflow/stable/configurations-ref.html#kubernetes Airflow Variables in [MWAA](https://docs.aws.amazon.com/mwaa/latest/userguide/configuring-env-variables.html#configuring-env-variables-airflow-ref) can be defined manually through the AirflowUI.
