OOo lacks a grammar checker
Just few words to let you know that Indesko (French company) starts a research project in collaboration with Stendhal Univerity - Grenoble III - France
This means a cooperation between the "automatic language processing" department (and with a last year of master student work) and Indesko within its R&D activity
This will focuse on french grammar rules but a part of the project is the integration of the engine inside OOo and then wil be re-usable. The long-time goal is to have a free grammar checker inside OOo
Myriam, the student, will have as first part to analyse free grammar checkers to choose the one that is the more suitable and the build french rules.
For the moment, we have two free engines - langauage tool from Daniel Naber - an Gramadoir from Kevin P. Scannel
Feel free to tell us if you know other working free grammar checker
We sincerelly hope that we will have soon something to show :)
