I do not understand the sense of the word type entry, why do wo need it at all?
Can we even put an empty string or nothing to that place?
according to myThes description you can find in the standalone archive http://lingucomponent.openoffice.org/thesaurus.html
it is the morpholical category (noun, verb, adjective ...) More, you can now have more than one meaning per entry in the thesaurus
