Good afternoon Mr Kevin Hendricks, I hope I am not out of line by writing to you.
I have been working through the long list of companies and their project lists. I found one on your website (http://development.openoffice.org/todo.html) that interests me. It is entitled "Design and build code that will combine information on prefixes and suffixes." I don't know what language skill is needed. Over my life time I have studied German, French, and Korean. I have been exposed to other languages such as Spanish and Chinese. My knowledge is stale, but I think I could pick it up again if that is a requirement for this project. I have used programming languages such as FORTRAN, Pascal, and Java. In single courses, I have been exposed to Perl, PHP, Javascript, and C#. So I could use my background to learn a new language if that is needed for this project. Having written the foregoing, would I be wasting your time to apply for this project under the Google Sumer of Code program? Thank you so very much, FRED L.
