Dear Dmitri, Glad to see your friendly question. :) I have fixed some really bugs in Hunspell, thanks for your nice bug report. I have also improved the ngram suggestion with ALLCAP suggestion (siggraph's -> SIGGRAPH's) and not neighboring swap character suggestion (pernament -> permanent). I'm almost finished Hunspell 1.1.0. My comments: > A) > All languages: HunSpell produces much less suggestions for > misspelled words. And that means, that in some occasions you don't > find a variant you'd want to use. > Here's one example in Russian. Instead of âФиŃПаâ (âFirmâ, > âCompanyâ) > I write âФŃиПаâ. > HunSpell suggests for that case: > ĐŃиПа > ĐŃиПа > ĐŃиПа > Obviously, none of that variants is what I need. I have missed your bug report in my respond. This was obviously not ngram related problem, but a really bug (lost suggestions). I have fixed it. > B) Russian: HunSpell ignores the letter > âŃâ. One explanation: that > letter is not obligatory in the modern Russian orthography and many > people normally use âĐľâ instead. I am among > those that insist on using > âŃâ and I have the ru_RU_yo.* module > for Russian in OOo. Again, one > simple example: I edit a text with > âĐľâ-spelling > and have, say, âооâ > instead of âĐľŃâ that I prefer. > âооâ is marked as error and MySpell > suggests âĐľŃâ among other variants. > HunSpell does not. Can it be > connected with the fact that the Russian module is based on the KOI-8 > encoding? In OOo 1.1.4, Myspell suggests max. 15 suggestions. MySpell 3.2 in beta OOo does max. 25 suggestions. The preferred suggestion (её) is the last one! I think, instead of huge number of suggestions we need a more user friendly approach. Using MAP definition is the preferred way here: MAP 1 MAP её ru_RU_yo example using this MAP definition: Hunspell 1.0.9 & ее 15 0: её, рее, лее, шее, фее, ере, еле, еде, еже, те, не, ре, пе, де, же & трехведерный 2 0: трёхведёрный, трёхвёдерный C) Belarusian: HunSpell counts words at sentence beginning (i.e., with the first letter capitalized) as errors and suggests lowercase-only spellings. That's not acceptable. There was problem also in KOI8-U and microsoft-cp1251 cyrillic encodings in Hunspell. Am I right, that Belarusian modul uses one of the two encodings? Thanks.
