Very glad to read your post. I have also started implementing a python script to generate the affix file for Zulu (see http://fi.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zulun_kieli) I have not had a lot of time and it is really a very big problem to solve (partly because Zulu is not my native tongue). I hope to find some time to extend the project and also to look at what you have done. I work for http://translate.org.za - we do lots of localisation work. Spell checkers have unfortunately been neglected and we have never had proper funding to work on that. My mother tongue is Afrikaans (see http://fi.wikipedia.org/wiki/Afrikaans), for which we have a reasonable spell checker, but the word list still need to be extended and we need to implement some Hunspell features to get better quality checking (we have similar orthography to German and Dutch). For the other official languages of South Africa (except for English, of course) our word lists are very small, of very bad quality, or don't even exist yet. I am therefore _very_ interested in your word collection project, and would really like to stay updated. We have agreed for a long time that we need a way to get the community easily involved. Perhaps collaboration will be possible in future.
