Hello Mohamed,
Hi Thomas,
Actually your dictionary seem to works quite fine!
That is after you correct the typo and insert the missing space between
the file names in the line
<value>%origin%/dictionaries/ar_TN.aff
%origin%/dictionaries/ar_TN.dic</value>
Now, that is working fine :) thank you very much Thomas!
;-)
I also managed to get a suggestion for a misspelled word.
However within Writer the context menu does only seem to work in RTL
context when using Arabic script. In LTR it right away disappears before
anything can bee seen Strange...
The bug, that you mentioned about the absence of the spellchecking
windows, when we are in LTR context is present in OOo 2.4 too. I think
it appears, because it have not "space" where it can display.
And thank you so much for converting the dictionary into an extension! ^^
One question though: In the description.xml you wrote
"Arabic spell check dictionary (Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Liban, Tunis)"
But the actual dictionaries.xcu lists only ar-TN as locale.
If you intend it to be used with Arabic (Egypt) and the like formatted
text you need to add the other locales as well.
E.g.
<prop oor:name="Locales" oor:type="oor:string-list">
<value>ar-TN ar-EG ar-SA</value>
</prop>
Ok! I am going to do more tests then i shall submit it to OpenOffice.org
repository for Extensions. You can find the release with improvements
you suggested here:
http://ayaspell.sourceforge.net/temp/dictionaries-ar-1.0.1.oxt
Just pick the ones you need from the following code lines (don't know if
you wanted Lebanon or Libya) :
isolang.cxx: { LANGUAGE_ARABIC_EGYPT,
[...]
About the names of countries listed in OOo: it seems that it lacks
some countries where arabic is official like: Mauritania, Sudan,
Palestine, Israel...etc. See:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_where_Arabic_is_an_official_language
Thank you again!

Hi,
I'm the author of Hunspell-ar (from ayaspell project), the Arabic
spell-checker dictionary and I want to test it under OOo 3 using oxt
file that i build because the dictionary list method don't work, but
without success: that's failed with OOo 3 (m19-beta) under Linux
(Ubuntu) and under Windows XP too. The spelling don't work at all. For
example, when i write arabic text, all of words are marked as
misspelled, wrong and good.
Is there any bad thing in my oxt file? or the arabic spelling don't work
in OOo3? or....??
