still same problem though MX appears to be running at
/home/opt/coldfusionmx/bin/./coldfusion.start but still wont make connection
to administrator.
Have found
http://www.macromedia.com/support/coldfusion/ts/documents/install_builtin.ht
m suggest reinstall and setting up internal webserver on port 8500, running
connection scripts from the administrator to get apache working,if this is
successful, etc, I'll try it

upgraded apache there to apache_1.3.31 should be enough for CF MX, but
running administrator, 'you do not have permission to view this page', I'll
try a
reinstall later

intalled on apache 1.3.6, really is 1.3.06 so may need apache upgrade for
min apache spec for CF MX, but on 1.3.6 install it went ok, upgraded apache
over the summer but httpd -v still gives 1.3.6(another story). Anyway after
upgrade, from the cf_root bin directory I get message Coldfusion MX already
running, seems to indicate install OK?
But lauching the administration page I get message:"The encrypted template
/home/sites/site1/web/CFIDE/administrator/Application.cfm contains invalid
CFML syntax". Anybody with Coldfusion MX on Linux spot anything or got
suggestion here. I note the coldfusion server 5.0 is still running though it
cfexec file
is not running in its bin directory
