>- see footer for list info -< I really wouldn’t bother with code obfuscation. If any one is that determined they'll reverse engineer.
This is a business issue not a technical one. If you are being required to allow access to a server then make the client/development partner sign a non disclosure/non compete contract. In addition if you make it clear in writing to the developer that areas of the server are private and that access is prohibited and that by providing access to other areas they are adhering to those conditions you should be covered. Bear in mind if you state that something is private read only and not for general access and that you can prove from ftp logs or otherwise that someone has accessed it from outside a controlled list by e.g. user/password then the whole computer misuse act kicks in and you can push for prosecution doesn’t just apply to breaking passwords you know. At the time I was looking for an app to decrypt a file which a previous company had encrypted but was no longer about to give me the source. The app decrypts files fine but also allows you to encrypt the files with a password. Using other decrypt tools fails to decrypt them correctly without the password. Basically, you supply a password to the application and then it scambles your code but allows CF to still run them. If this is what you are after, let me know and I will look when I get home tonight and send you the link. This is a very handy app to protect your work.
