The whole pitch of Contribute is wrong IMHO. It makes people think they can manipulate content as if it was in Word (ie. for a printed format), forgetting that they're not working to fixed-size A4 paper and so on, and the rules of HTML apply. HTML is most likely a mystery to people who use Contribute - that's why they needed a CMS to start with - so when the interface doesn't produce quite what they wanted to do, the user gets frustrated. With the right training and strict deployment it can work OK (James B on this list is the house expert!) but the templates have to be pretty rigid. We had one project where the project sponsor basically wanted to be able to design a page "from a blank sheet" as he put it - again thinking in Word terminology - but he wasn't overly impressed with the results until he was given a fairly locked-down HTML template to start from. Just my 2p. PS: Paul - wasn't thinking you were pushing MM, just what you described sounds exactly like MM's Contribute pitch, even though their product doesn't necessarily fit the bill! _______________________________________________ For details on ALL mailing lists and for joining or leaving lists, go to http://list.cfdeveloper.co.uk/mailman/listinfo -- CFDeveloper Sponsors:- >- Hosting provided by www.cfmxhosting.co.uk -< >- Forum provided by www.fusetalk.com -< >- DHTML Menus provided by www.APYCOM.com -< >- Lists hosted by www.Gradwell.com -< >- CFdeveloper is run by Russ Michaels, feel free to volunteer your help -<
