Assuming low-use web site then Access is not an issue.

However should a site begin to get high-traffic/doing complex stuff and the
connection to the Access DB becomes overloaded, then the CF server hangs. If
you are running CF on top of say Jrun then eventually Jrun Admin server
realises (that's my understanding) there is something wrong and restarts the
CF server instance. However in the meantime your CF server is down for all
clients.

With blackstone you will be able to create a CF server per application so
bad use of Access DBs will be sand boxed.

In reality you are better off installing MySQL 4 and telling them to use
something like NaviCat to migrate their access dbs into MySQL. (looking at
free options here).
