>- see footer for list info -< Dear All, I am on the brink of being required to develope an enterprise application for a company which to begin with will be on a 3 server setup. Web Server, Application Server and DB Server. All running Win2003, CFMX and MS SQL 2000.
Users will use the web server to perform tasks which will ultimately end up with a CFSchedule being created. The plan is to have the CFschedule work done by the Application server due to the load that the number of cfschedules may create. Therefore, the web will only be for browsing and interacting whilst the application server will work in the background performing the tasks requested by the web server at some time in the future. The web server will be placing information into the SQL backend for the application server to use during its cfschedules. To begin with their will be no clustering of the environment but it is envisaged that this may be the case in future as demand for the application increases. My conudrum is this, I need to have a Disaster Recovery setup as well which if the primary site fails will be able to perform the provision of both the web / application and db roles. What is the best way to achieve this without the DR environment trying to perform the same tasks as the live server etc? What happens if they need to cluster the live environment? My head hurts. I have a host of other questions revolving around this and do not want to monopolise the cf-dev list so if anyone fancies mentoring me through this it would be much appreciated.
