One way is to have body style of text-align:center then specify a fixed width for your div. This will center all content however so you need a style on the div: text-align:left.

The other way is to have on your div something like div{margin-left:20%";margin-right:20%;} -- this gives you flexible sizing...

Oh for god sake...

So what's the proper way to center something these days, and what's the
proper doctype to use.

Trouble is the support for the align attribute is changing between HTML 4.01 (deprecated)and xhtml (not supported) - comment out your <doctype> tag, and lo, it works. Not much help, I know.

That div has been there all along though. And I generally us ethat method to align tables without having any problems like this.

Looks like it's your <div align="center"> at around line 75 (of the rendered HTML!), although why, I couldn't tell you...

through and

changed all td's to align='left' to fix it, but I wanna know why it happened.

Bump... Has this stumped everyone else as well.

Can u give us an example URL Russ? IE breaks style

inheritance when it

hits a table element, at least it does in quirks mode

anyway. Could it

be something to do with this, it's all I can think of anyway.

Mark
