>- see footer for list info -< Depends what you want to do with it, what you want it to do for you and what platform you will be hosting it on. BIND Is the defacto DNS system that most of the world uses and runs on Unix 9there is a windows distro), it's like Apache, all manual configuration of files. Then you have Microsoft DNS that comes with the server, manages like IIS etc. If you have no prior DNS admin experience and your starting from scratch, then you might get on with it, otherwise I think it is just confusing, I wouldn't touch it with a 10 foot barge pole for anything other than running a windows domain controller.
For sheer ease of use, does everything it needs to do, has a nice GUI, easy to modify programmatically, runs on windows, I have to vote for simpleDNS though. I am no DNS expert, but simpleDNS does do some quite cool stuff that even BIND doesn't do. Just download the trial and try it out, it's very hard not to like it.
