I was thinking of a structure, because I am going to need the result set in
two places, one where I display it to the user and the other when I create a
Excel/CSV file if the user plans to download the results.

Why are you using a structure? Just output the results form the query to the
page.

Does your query change much? If not the cache it and that will save database
hits.
