The docs for the Dateformat() function do actually tell you this.

Dateformat(Now(), 'dddd mmmm dd, yyyy')

Subject: [CF-Dev] Today's date with month and day names

>- see footer for list info -<
Hello everyone,

    I hope someone can help me with this. Below I pasted some CF code which
when runs gives the present date numerically. Using today as an example
when you run the code it displays:
Today is 06/16/2005
    Here is the code:
<cfoutput>
<h2>Today's date is #DateFormat(Now( ),'mm/dd/yyyy')#</h2> </cfoutput> How
does one modify this code to cause the month and day names to be displayed
instead of their numeric values. I want to use a program that when embedded
on a web page would display:
Today is Thursday June 16, 2005

    If someone can help me modify this code to cause it to display the
current date that way I'll appreciate it very much. Thanks for your help.

Peter Donahue
