I am storing certain information about logged in users in the client scope. This info is set to be stored in a database (not cookies or registry).

In most browsers, dumping #client# will reveal a constant CFIDand CFTOKEN (unless there has been no activity for 9 months).

However, in IE5.0, every time I hit or refresh the page, a new CFID is created meaning that I can not deliver specific client based information to the stoopid user using IE5.

I have a suspicion this has to do with cookies. The version of IE5 we have is a kind of hack, it does not need installing, just copying and running; perhaps this might have something to do with it?

Anyways, hope someone can shed some light.

Dominic
