If you're up for using cfform, you can valid for time (e.g 11:00) which
should more or less do the trick

It's not perfect (for example allows spaces), but its better than a poke in
the eye

<cfform action="" method="post">
        <cfinput        type="text"
                        validateat="onSubmit"
                        name="timeTest"
                        validate="time"
                        maxlength="5"
                        size="5"
                        Message="Not a valid time">
        <input type="submit" value="submit" name="submit">
</cfform>

Would IsDate() work? Try seeing what a date with a messed up time portion
does.

If it does work, fake the date and the time will get checked.

<cfif IsDate("01/01/2000 " & YourDateVariableHere)>

Failing that, checking for a valid time should be fairly straight forward.

Or, go see www.cflib.org

Hello again....

Is there an 'istime(#variable#)' function in coldfusion?

I just want to check that the user has entered a valid time on the form
rather than (fghjjgj) or some other rubbish. At present the code crashes if
the user does this ....

Regards - Paul
