Thanks.

I will do that in future.
I just needed a "My brain doesn't work on a Friday" quick fix.

If "formbuscador" is the name of your form, and "circuitname" is the
name of your select list, you can reference the select list more
directly by doing ...

document.getElementById("circuitname").selectedIndex

... rather than ...

document.getElementById("formbuscador").circuitname.selectedIndex

It works now. At least in latest versions of IE, Nutscrape, Opera,
Firefox.

Changing
document.myform.circuitname.selectedIndex

to document.getElementById('formbuscador').circuitname.selectedIndex

Thanks for all your help.

I have used document.getElementById("circuitname") to reference objects
on the page with JS for ages. Works in IE, and Netscape, and you can use
it to reference anything with a NAME OR an ID. No mucking around
prefacing it with form. or images. or anything else ...

I am trying to make my HTML comply with an HTML Validator.

Now it says that the attributes NAME is no longer a valid <FORM>
attributes. It does tell me I can use ID.

So I substituted NAME for ID and my javascript stopped working.

Things like this: document.myform.circuitname.selectedIndex.

I suppose I could use form[0] but what is the proper / better way to do
it using ID. GetElementByID ?

Anyone up for a Friday morning javascript brainstorm?

Thanks
Allan
