There is whitespace being generated, and all my fucntions do have
output="no"
In particular I am finding it to be a problem with web services, cozz
whitespace ends up in the XML stream, which makes it invalid.
I have done work arounds to get round the problem, but it would be nice to
just not have the whitespace to begin with.

Does the CFC produce whitespace or the functions within them?

If it's the functions, output="no" might help.

I have just been going through my app adding

<cfprocessingdirective supresswhitespace="yes"> to every page to clean up
all the whitespace

And I have noticed you cannot do this in a CFC, as <CFCOMPONENT> has to be
the first line of code in a CFC.

How annoying.
