presumably the IIS site is just a virtual directory to the actual location?

I'm just trying to figure out how Plesk is working.

It creates an FTP site under something like
c:\inetpub\vhosts\servers\232545\mysiteuser

and then an IIS site like c:\inetpub\vhosts\mysite.com

Being as the ftp site and iis sites are mapped to different paths -
then how the heck is stuff being served? I've found that if i have
both locations open in explorer and create a folder in either location
then it appears in the other - almost like symbolic linking in Linux?
There doesn't seem to be any replication service running or suchlike -
any ideas on how it's working?

thanks,

john
