The problem with using frames is that the content will scroll regardless, so
the columns will not stay lined up if I scroll left/right
And the rows will not stay lined up if I scroll up/down.
I think I have found an IE only solution however.
In the IE DOM I can detect when a scroll occurs in a layer and the scroll
position, so I can have multiple tables inside scrolling DIV's.
When the data is scrolled horizontally, I can also sync the scroll of the
header DIV.
When the data is scrolled vertically I can also sync the scroll of the row
titles div.

Haven't done that as such, but couldn't you just use an iFrame for the
header bar?

I think that should achieve what you are after

I have a requirement to emulate the "freeze panes" feature of excel in
DHTML.
Yaknow, where you scroll left and right and it leaves the row titles static,
and u scroll and up and own and the column headers do not move.
Has anyone come across anything b4 that does this.

Russ
