IE7 has a new feature that lets you create panes (layers) that remain
static/fixed on the page even when its scrolled. It's rather cool and I can
think of all sorts of uses for it.

Google have managed to create this function in Gmail for IE6/FF when you
initiate a live chat. (Tip: to do live chats in Gmail select your language
as US English as it also controls what features you're allowed) The chat
layer remains fixed even when you scroll the page. I have no idea how they
do it. It can't be counteracting the scrolling because there's no jittering,
it's firmly locked in its place.
