So would it be possible to do .....
field[currentrow] = #queryname[currentrow][field]#
Then you'd store each field name in an array .....Or maybe put the whole
thing into a structure or something ....
Then I could have tables that broke the elements of the template down
header, main bit, total, notes maybe ....
So read first from the header, get the fieldnames, and show the data
depending on the school type year etc ...
Hmmmm I'll have to have a play ....
Thanks - Paul

Well the problem is that you will not know what fields to display, so
dynamically reading them may not help
If you simply want to display all column in the table, then you can just
loop over #columnlist#
E.g.
<cfset row = 1>
<cfoutput query="myquery">
<cfloop list="#queryname.columnlist#" item="field">
#field# = #queryname[currentrow][field]#
<cfloop>
<cfoutput>

I have an application that presents schools budget information....
http://www.bgfl.org/cfpages/budgetnew/schools.cfm
The problem is that the template changes (because the funding grants
change)
from year to year and depending on Nursery, Primary/Secondary, and special
schools.
Each year I have to import the data from a spreadsheet to MS SQL create
tables and change the code to reflect the new lines in the budget. Its a
real pain in the ar.....e.
Is there a way that I could dynamically read the field names and maybe use
just 3 (or more) templates to display the data ....?
Does any one have any other ideas on how to present to achieve a situation
where I don't have to keep updating the pages ....?
Regards - Paul
