Heres what I did step by step
1. Created trigger.cfm and testevent.cfc by cut and paste of your posted
code
2. In CFADMIN - Event Gateway settings made sure
Enable Coldfusion Gateway Services - was on
3. IN CFADMIN - Event Gateway - Instances
created a new instance
Gateway ID - testevent
Type - CFML
CFC Path - full path to testevent.cfc
Config file - left blank
Startup Mode - Auto
4. clicked this new event start button so that Status is Running (green)
5. Ran trigger.cfm
