How is it writing the content on the page? Try to alert the value of the
variable cell, e see if it's creating the link correctly.

All,
I am having trouble embedding a link in some AJAX stuff I'm working on here:
cell = createCellWithText("<a href='javascript:void(0);'
onClick='doSearch2('<cfoutput>#cgi.http_host#</cfoutput>',"+place_id+"')>"+devicelocation+"</a>");
row.appendChild(cell);
No error but the result is the link as plain text rather than a clickable
link.
Pointers gladly accepted.
