Bingo! I didn't pay attention on this function he's using, that may be the case.

Cheers

What does createCellWithText do? its not a standard function.

The only reference i found was in some src that had it as

function createCellWithText(text) {
   var cell = document.createElement("td");
   var textNode = document.createTextNode(text);
   cell.appendChild(textNode);
   return cell;
}

in this case it creates a new text node inside a td element and returns the
reference to the element. Text nodes are rendered as plain text, not as an
element. If you want to add a link you'll have to do it manually.

ie.

link = document.createElement("a");
link.href = "myTarget.html";

mmm nope, the page still outs it in plain text. I'm using:

cell = createCellWithText("\<a href='javascript:void(0);'
onClick='doSearch2('usawvas29.opbu.xerox.com:99',"+place_id+"')\>"+devicelocation+"\</a\>");
     row.appendChild(cell);

Everything between the first and last double quotes is displayes as
you see it above.

Yes, try to escape all the <> with \(backslash), so you will have
something
like "\<a href"..."\</a\>"

Cheers

It has converted the < to < and the > to >

Do I need to escape it in some way?
