Good pointers, Duncan. And despite the title of the first one, it's not
showing use of CFMX-specific techniques, so it should work in CF5.

And Gordon, if perchance what you meant is that you want to "consume" an RSS
feed (rather than publish one), the same gent has a sister article on that:

http://tutorial208.easycfm.com/

Though there he does indeed use something new in CFMX (6), the xmlparse
function and its related means of processing XML. There are other
approaches, but if it's not what you're asking about, I won't belabor the
point. I will point out at least one interesting alternative, which is to
consider using Spry, as Ray Camden describes here:

od

Gordon, you asked also about comments on moving from CF5 to CFMX 7. That's a
big subject, and I'll tackle it in a follow-up note.

I have been asked to do some work on a friends site that is hosted using CF7
MX

All our sites are CF5 and as he wants to place an RSS feed from the site I
thought I would ask as I understand that their are some built in functions
in 7 to cover this. Does anyone have a simple example I could learn from?

I can not use any of our CFX tags for obvious reasons.

It is actually quit interesting to play around with 7 so if anyone has any
thoughts on the most useful improvements from 5 I would be grateful for any
code snippets or tips to get me started.

Gordon
