Thames Valley UG: What makes a smart coder?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Is it brains or communications skills? Does commenting matter to real
programmers? What tips can you learn to become a true programming
guru? In this session we will explore what makes a guru coder from the
speakers 25 year's of experience coding and with audience
participation too.

Michael Smith, President of TeraTech, will be presenting on "What
makes a smart coder".  Michael is over from Maryland, US and will be
dropping in to give us this insightful presentation.

After the meeting, if time allows, we will head to a local pub to have
a drink and to give you all the opportunity to speak to Michael in
more detail.

which will be at.

AUGUST AND SEPTEMBER MEETING UPDATES (INC THAMES VALLEY UG)

August Meetings
Michael Smith from TeraTech is visiting us from the US and will be
presenting at both the Thames Valley UG and the UKCFUG.  The meetings
are being held on the 23rd and 24th August respectively.

UKCFUG: Mindmapping for Better Programming and Using Mindmap with
Fusebox (24 August 2006)
Please don't forget to register, as numbers are restricted.  We look
forward to seeing you there.
September Meetings
In September we have the usual UKCFUG and Thames Valley UG meetings
(check the meetings list for more details), but also there is a
special Adobe Developer Event that is being held in London on 6
September.

Michael Smith Biography
Michael Smith is the President of TeraTech, a 17-year old Rockville,
Maryland consulting company that specializes in web and database
development. TeraTech has developed sophisticated data-driven web
sites for a wide range of organizations, from corporations to
government agencies. In addition to ColdFusion, the TeraTech staff
also have extensive experience in SQL databases, ASP, HTML, Access,
Foxpro, Visual Basic and more. Michael has been programming for over
25 years and has been coding in ColdFusion since version 1.5 ten years
ago. He obtained his MA and BA from Cambridge University, England and
graduated in the top 10 of his year. Michael runs the Maryland
ColdFusion User Group and organized many very successful CF events
including CFUNITED-05 with over 800 attendees. Michael volunteers at
ByteBack, a non-profit organization provides computer training for
unemployed and under-employed inner city residents. He also is a
frequent contributor to Fusion Authority, the ColdFusion Developer
Journal and the CPCUG monitor.
