You can't write a Word doc to disk just by saving it as a text file and
changing the mime type as far as I'm aware. I've seen a technique using a
COM object that requires the server to have Word installed, but again it
will only save locally although you can simply deliver the file to the
client using cfcontent.

Hi.
I want to create a word document on the fly to show a report.
I have done something similar in the past using
<cfsavecontent>
#BIG REPORT#
</cfsavecontent>
<cffile action="WRITE" file="d:\blahblahblah\#SchoolID#_06.xls"
output="#excelData#" nameconflict="overwrite">
This however saves the file locally. THere could be tens of thousands of
reports for this new system so I want to create them on the fly and NOT
save
them locally.
Can I just use <CFCONTENT>#BIG REPORT#</CFCONTENT> (and whats the correct
mime for MS word these days using 6.1?
Regards - Paul
