I use CGI.AUTH_USER here to determine who is logged on, and use that value
to show/hide certain tools in an intranet application. Certain rules to it
though, it only works if you are using IE (only IE will send the Windows
Login info without popping up a password box), there is a setting in IE you
can turn this behaviour on or off (so you have to make sure it is on), the
website has to be in the same domain as the machine trying to access it
(otherwise it pops up a password box), and you have to setup IIS (untick the
"Anonymous Access" box in the "Directory Security" tab, and tick the
"Integrated Windows Authentication" box instead). I think that's it ... I
set it up a while ago now, it's used by everyone here everyday and hasn't
had any problems. Hope that helps !?

Morning All,

I have been asked to look at a project which includes the client using
sharepoint server as part of their intranet. They have an SMS application
from another provider which is built into the intranet but they don't like
it and have asked me to price for another one.

The issue is they want single sign on which they have with the existing
system. Single sign on being that they sign in to windows when they get into
work and when they open the intranet it knows who they are and provides
certain views etc.

Is there anyway to find out from the system which user it is and pass this
to the CFLDAP tag accordingly?

Regards,

Lee
