Yea I was gonna do that, but then I decided it was probably more efficient
to have the primary key and thus all foreign key relationships on an INT
field anyway rather than a GUID field.

That's a sillyism of CF. How much effort would it be for them to fix or add
a proper createGUID() function? Anyway, here's how to fix it:

<CFSET newGUID=insert("-", CreateUUID(), 23)>

The above will create a new genuine GUID, compatible with MS SQL for
example.
