that sounds like the same problem with using CFCookie followed by CFLocation.  
The solutions are CFHeader, or using Javascript or metatags to redirect.

I have this set in Application.cfm
<CFSETTING ENABLECFOUTPUTONLY="Yes">
(to try and cut down on whitespace)

but in my code <CFLOCATION ...> has stopped working.
It comes up with page cannot be displayed error.

I have found a workaround by using 
<CFHEADER STATUSCODE="302" ...>

but i was wondering if anyone had come across a proper solution or the same 
problem.
