But to answer your question, the free version supports Apache on Linux only. On Windows, you either need to use IIS or the built-in web server, the latter of which should be fine for your in-home intranet. And just to clarify, the free version is not intended for commercial use. Seems curious to have an "in-home" intranet. :-) But if it really is non-commercial, you're ok.
