Hello everyone,

I'm trying to get some audio files uploaded to a Web site, but don't
want to proceed with the upload until I'm sure I have enough disk space to
hold the files. If this site was hosted on my own server to which I have
administrative privileges this is no problem as I can check the available
disk quota for each hosted Web site by going to the Helm Control Panel to
check this information there, and make adjustments to the allocated disk
space for a particular Web site if needed. Since I anticipate having to
upload large files to sites to which I do not have administrative privileges
more frequently I would like to be able to determine the amount of available
disk space for Web sites on servers to which I do not have administrative
privileges in order to determine if the allotted disk space will be
sufficient, or if I need to request the system administrator to adjust the
available disk space for such sites.

Are there FTP clients with this capability? Is there a Unix command I
can enter in the Windows FTP Client that will tell me the free disk space in
MB or GB for a particular Web site to determine if it will be enough to hold
large files such as audio and video files? I'll appreciate knowing the
proper commands for UNIX, or recommendations of checking utilities that can
do this. Thanks for your help and suggestions.

Peter Donahue
