>- see footer for list info -< The good news is that CF8 has launched (I like the Tim Buntel demos) but the price has been hiked - the opposite to what many people were hoping. Enterprise is $7499 (£3750) from the US Adobe store and a whopping £4539+VAT from the UK store.
CF7 was $5999 so that's a $1500 hike. The new features are great but the price is even more of a deterrent for developers and clients to take to CF, and also for existing users who want to add more servers. In recent months BlueDragon have made their license much cheaper in some configurations and I heard they can offer SPLA for hosting services (pay as you go). To put it in perspective you can buy *FOUR* brand new dual core, 2Gb, RAID1 servers with Windows Server 2003 licenses running .NET for the price of 1 CF8 license. Anyhue, apologies for using this mailing list as a blog but I do have a question. I took out a subscription with CF7 but I don't know how to use it to upgrade to CF8. Would my license key simply be accepted by CF8 or do I need to contact Adobe Sales for a new license key? Thanks, Gary F. _______________________________________________ For details on ALL mailing lists and for joining or leaving lists, go to http://list.cfdeveloper.co.uk/mailman/listinfo -- CFDeveloper Sponsors:- >- cfdeveloper Hosting provided by www.cfmxhosting.co.uk -< >- Lists hosted by www.Gradwell.com -< >- CFdeveloper is run by Russ Michaels, feel free to volunteer your help -<
