>- see footer for list info -< Hi, Is anyone aware of whether it is possible to get communication (i.e. function calls working between a flash page/actionscript created using CFForm, and the JavaScript context of the page it is delivered in) ? Firstly : Why would I want to do this anyway ?: A: Because I find limitations in what can be done between using Flash / CFForm and HTML/CFForm and good old HTML forms. Each seems to have a piece of the puzzle for what I need to do. Mostly I find that I like the way Flash/CFForm does validation in general but don't like the limitations of (say) cfgrid in Flash, to the extent I need to use HTML tables instead, but need to communicate between the two when validating. Also, I'm using the cfmenu system and it would be nice to be able to send menu commands to a flash form in the main page. None of this is essential, it would just produce a system that works more like the way I planned it. Now I have studied this good and hard, and made some experiments with both fscommand and externalinterface but the thing stubbornly refuses to work or even come close. It has taken up a lot of time. Perhaps I am not holding my mouth right or something. According to the Flex 1.5 documentation fscommand should work (and I'm wondering why Adobe have not updated this as part of the CF 8 release anyway.) Anyway, before I give up on this quest I thought to ask here as a last resort. Does anyone know for certain that this does/does not work and can provide the missing clue ? Thanks/Cheers, Bryn _______________________________________________
