don't know about the CFC - but I do know it uses jQuery, and to post with
jQuery you do this:

url: "page.cfm",

"name="+$('#myInput').val()+"&secondVal="+$('#mySecondInput').val(),
success: handleResponse
});

If you need to serialise an entire form quickly and easily then add the form
plugin for jQuery:
http://www.malsup.com/jquery/form/
Then you can quickly setup an ajax form post with the following line:
$('#myForm').ajaxForm(options);
