Hello,

I am installing Apache 2 on Windows 2003 standard.

What is the best practice of setting this up, in terms of the default
installation location?

Are you installing to C:\Program Files\Apache Group\Apache2\ on a
production box?

Thanks!

I tend to try to avoid installing Apache to Program Files on the C drive. I
have on occasion used "Program Files" on a secondary drive that contains all
the applications for the server, like MySQL, SQL Server, Mail Server etc.
Also I've set up apache in a folder in the top level of secondary drives. I
usually rename "Apache Group" to "ApacheGroup" (no space). Saves on a
little bit of faffing about with config and potentially needing quotes
around paths to catch the space in the path name.

Hope that helps

Stephen

I'll be installing it on C:\APACHE or D:\APACHE (if available)

Thank you so much!
