>- see footer for list info -< I tried making a connection using the following <cfset jUrl = CreateObject( "java", "java.net.URL" ).Init( 'http://www.google.com/') />
<cfdump var="#jUrl.getContent()#"> and I got back Security: The requested template has been denied access to www.google.com:80. So it would appear that the security sandbox is denying access to port 80, funny how CFHTTP doesn't report that. Now this is because I do have a rule in the server/ports section of my default sandbox to allow a connection to mysql, which was another issue I had in the past that without an explicit rule to allow this connection, CF simply will not connect to mysql, the DSN will work briefly when created due to authentication by the cfadmin role, but when that connection has timed out, the next one will fail as ot creates the connection as a new user. No idea why as other servers do not have this issue. Anyway because I have a server/port in my default sandbox, it is denying everything else by default as a result, so I don't know how I can get around that as I cannot enter the IP of every server that every user may want to connect to that would seem to be a exorbitant workaround. If I remove the MySQL rule then CFHTTP works, by all the mySQL DSN's will then fail.
